AI + ML Engineer (Gameplay AI & Tools)

Remote•Revenue ShareWe are currently operating on Revenue Share compensation. Salary amounts are planned pay for when funding milestones are reached. The two co-founders are deferring their pay until team members receive fair sales-based payouts.
Current Revenue Share: $39.90/hr
Planned Salary (Post-Funding): $19.95/hr
Build believable enemy behaviors and support the team with AI-focused tooling. This role spans classic game AI (behavior trees, EQS, navigation, perception) and pragmatic ML or Python tooling for automation, analytics, or content workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Implement enemy and NPC behaviors using UE5 AI frameworks
  • Tune perception, navigation, and decision-making for tension
  • Build AI debugging and visualization tools for the team
  • Create Python tooling for data analysis, automation, or testing
  • Collaborate with design to translate intent into behaviors
  • Profile and optimize AI cost for real-time gameplay
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of game AI patterns and tradeoffs
  • UE5 AI experience (Behavior Trees, EQS, Nav, Perception)
  • Comfort scripting tools (Python preferred)
  • Git workflow comfort
  • Working mic for voice collaboration
  • Fluent English
Preferred Qualifications
  • ML experience applied to tooling, analysis, or automation
  • Experience building AI debugging utilities
  • Experience tuning stealth/horror pacing via AI behaviors
  • Multiplayer considerations for AI (authority, replication, perf)
