Gameplay Systems Engineer

Remote•Revenue ShareWe are currently operating on Revenue Share compensation. Salary amounts are planned pay for when funding milestones are reached. The two co-founders are deferring their pay until team members receive fair sales-based payouts.
Current Revenue Share: $39.90/hr
Planned Salary (Post-Funding): $19.95/hr
Build the systems that make survival gameplay tick. You'll implement robust, data-driven mechanics like inventory, crafting, progression, status effects, and saving/loading, with clean interfaces for UI, design, and content.
Responsibilities
  • Implement data-driven inventory and item systems
  • Build crafting, progression, and status effect frameworks
  • Create save/load pipelines and version-safe persistence
  • Design clean APIs for UI and gameplay integration
  • Write tests and tooling to prevent regressions
  • Collaborate with design on balance hooks and tuning data
Requirements
  • Strong gameplay programming fundamentals
  • UE5 Blueprints proficiency and solid C++ experience
  • Experience building data-driven systems
  • Git workflow comfort
  • Working mic for voice collaboration
  • Fluent English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UE5 save systems and data assets
  • Experience with survival mechanics (stamina, hunger, injury, etc.)
  • Experience with network-ready system design
  • Performance profiling and optimization experience
